Mega Man and Reimu in the desert

Mostly an animation test I wanted to try out just to see how well I could pull it off. And it was pulled off rather well. And yes, in case some of you sci-fi fans and big time game followers may notice, the background used is in fact the Tattooine Desert from Star Wars. Apprentice of the Force for GBA to be exact. I used it for mostly a non clear cut ground for them to walk/run across to show I know how to animate sprites and not make it into a schlocky mess. With the program I used I made a quote unquote invisible line to have them go around as I placed each frame layer per layer on the image. For an exact count, there were 42 Mega Man running sprite layers in the image, and 64 Reimu running sprite layers.

After all the layers were set, I made each frame visible, and saved the image as a separate image, and repeated the process until I had them all done. Afterwards I used another image editing program I have and opened up all the images into that and exported them into a gif animation with a set speed that's nice and fluid.

I would much prefer to use Macromedia Flash 8 to make animations, and potentially make a flash series as you can probably expect some good quality work from me if this says anything. I had the installer for it but then my laptop's hard drive died on me so I lost it before I could attempt to purchase it. :/ I might do other simple gif animations but don't expect anymore like this as while I do like the result of this, it's really not what I'd like to spend my time doing without being able to make a nice story out of it.
